Chris Setser

Christopher Setser serves as the Minister of Youth at Basore Road GBC. He is the director of Youth for our RIOT Youth group, and is responsible for ministering to all Junior High and High School students at Basore and beyond. Many teens bring friends to RIOT, and he enjoys reaching teens from schools as far away as Centerville and Arcanum along with those that attend Basore regularly.

Christopher graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College in '01 with a double major in Biology and Pre-Physical Therapy. He had entered college intending to go into full-time physical work as a practicing physical therapist. Immediately after arriving on campus God began to shape Christopher for a life of full-time ministry. Within a few days he had been invited to and attended Campus Crusade for Christ, and was quickly plugged into a Bible Study.

God used several very godly older men on campus to shape Christopher spiritually, and by mid fall at the group's Fall Retreat Christopher had rededicated his life to Christ. The next few years Christopher grew in his relationship to Christ through being a Bible Study leader, a Crusade leadership team member, and eventually the President of Campus Crusade, and the founder of the on-campus Christian Fraternity Alpha kappa Omega.

Half way through his senior year, as Christopher was applying for graduate schools in Physical Therapy and preparing for his wedding, he felt the call of God to full-time ministry and threw out every graduate school application. He has never looked back, and knew that God would be faithful in bringing him to a ministry devoted to Him.

Shortly after graduation Christopher married his wife Andreana in the summer of 2001, and they moved into their home in Dayton. Christopher began to work with RIOT Youth in the fall of that year, and Andreana joined the staff in 2003. Christopher took over the position of Youth Minister in the fall of 2005 when his mentor and associate pastor moved on to plant a daughter church in Springboro, Ohio.

Christopher and Andreana enjoy their extended family at Basore, and their boys Andrew and Ryan. The boys are the "mascots" of RIOT Youth, and are VERY loved by all in the church. The boys love to hang out with the teens, and have great examples to follow as they watch the RIOT teens grow and develop spiritually.
