Purpose
The Gideons International serves as an extended missionary arm of the church: Our sole purpose is to win men, women, boys and girls to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ through association for service, personal testimony, and distributing the Bible in the human traffic lanes and streams of everyday life.
Ministry Prayer Requests
- Financial Support: More funds to supply more scriptures for the world.
- The state of Ohio has a goal to purchase approximately 1.8 million scriptures for distribution this year. Pray for church services that will help raise the 2.5 million dollars required to reach this goal.
- Continued open doors for scripture distribution, Hotels, Motels, Nursing Homes, etc.
- Recently a team of Gideons from the US and other countries assisted the local Gideons in Senegal, West Africa, on an International Scripture Blitz. Over 43,500 scriptures were distributed, primarily through cold calling on schools.
- The Gideon Ministry has now been established in two new countries, Kosovo and Andorra, in southern Europe. Please pray for these Gideons as they begin their new works.
- Pray for the recent distribution in Senegal West Africa that God's word would touch many hearts. This is a country that is 95% Muslim.
- Pray for needed new Gideon members and scripture funds, so that scriptures can be purchased and distributed in the 190 countries where the Gideon ministry has been established.
How YOU Can Be Involved
- Annually, the Gideon’s International is placing and distributing more than 63,000,000 Scriptures worldwide. To God be the glory! This averages one million copies of the Word of God placed every six days, or 120 per minute! Please pray that His word will not return void.
